“Once you open the bag, the four winds will be unsealed!” In 1274 and 1281, Japan was shielded from invasion by two great storms, winds so fierce they were believed to be sent by the gods themselves. These divine tempests, attributed to Fujin, the Japanese god of wind, became the origin of the term Kamikaze, “The Divine Wind.”
